The 66-year-old country music legend was in the midst of his headlining performance at the Georgetown, Texas festival when he began performing his timeless hit, “Remember When.” As he reached the third verse, he gestured for Denise to join him on stage. After singing the heartfelt lyrics, Jackson asked his band to keep playing while he made his way over to his wife.

“Remember when/ Old ones died and the new were born/ And life was changed, disassembled, rearranged/ We came together, fell apart/ And broke each other’s hearts/ Remember when,” Alan Jackson sang before signaling his steel guitarist to continue the song’s instrumental.

Denise joined him center stage and the pair of lovebirds shared a slow dance, soaking in the emotional moment while the band continued to play the “Remember When” instrumental. Produced by Keith Stegall and written solely by Jackson, “Remember When” was released over 20 years ago as part of Alan Jackson’s compilation album, Greatest Hits Volume II. The track, which went on to become one of his signature hits, is a reflection of he and his wife’s love story.

Alan Jackson’s performance at the Two Step Inn Festival was very eventful, not only did he share a slow dance and kiss with his wife on stage, but he also encouraged fans to “climb over them fences and dance,” which led to the festival organizers to temporarily pause his performance.

Alan Jackson’s appearance at the Two Step Inn Festival marked his first time performing at the event, and likely his last, since he is currently embarking on his final tour as he gears up for retirement. The country music legend is currently in the midst of the final dates of his Last Call: One More For The Road Tour, which has two more shows remaining, including Tampa (April 26) and Milwaukee (May 17).
