Previous seasons of the show have dropped on Christmas Day (season one) and 25 March (season two). Combining that unpredictability with the recent SAG-AFTRA strikes, well, I think it’s fair to say the jury’s out as to when to expect season three!

As this article points out, Queen Charlotte, who is an entirely imagined character separate from the books, died in 1818. The second season of Bridgerton takes place in 1814, and the third could cycle forwards as far as 1824, which would take as past the death date of the monarch who has been a central part of the show thus far!

According to this Redditor, season one protagonist, Daphne, will help Eloise forgive Penelope for lying to her about being Lady Whistledown. “I think it would make sense if she tried to help [because] she would understand both sides of the conflict, seeing as it is a similar situation to her and Edwina’s relationship in [season two]”, they write.

I love this theory that season three will explore more of Benedict’s fruity side – cos come on, that Henry Granville storyline was going somewhere!! I don’t know that Benedict will be gay per se, but I can’t help but feel (hope) his sexuality gets examined more in the season.

Fans also think that season three will introduce Sophie Beckett, who becomes the object of Benedict’s affections in the book. That’s prob more likely, TBF.

As we’ve seen in the previous seasons, the fortunes of the Featheringtons have been up and down to say the least! We also know that Penelope has made a decent amount of money from being the Ton’s resident gossip. So, it would follow that she might just use that coin to save her family if the need arises. How she’ll explain why she has so much money… That’s another story!

A viral rumour that’s been in circulation for a long time suggests that Netflix wants to move away from its traditional bingeing model. In fact, it can be traced back this tweet in September 2022. With Bridgerton being one of the biggest shows Netflix has on its roster, fans are worried that season three will be released weekly instead of all at once.

To quote u/stephapeaz, “ummmm how about no???? imagine waiting a week in between Aubrey hall and the anthony/edwina wedding episodes, no thank u 😅”.
