The stepmom of a young cheerleader found dead in a Las Vegas hotel room made a “haunting” plea before the discovery.
Addi Smith, a young cheerleader from Utah, and her mom, Tawnia McGeegan, were found dead in a Las Vegas hotel room. The mom and daughter were in Las Vegas for a cheerleading competition. Police are investigating the deaths as an apparent murder-suicide.

“With the heaviest hearts, we share the devastating news that our sweet athlete Addi has passed away. We are completely heartbroken. No words do the situation justice. She was so beyond loved, and she will always be a part of the UXC family. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers and continue to send them love as they navigate this unimaginable loss. We ask that you respect their privacy during this time. Addi, we love you tremendously,” Utah Xtreme Cheer announced.
Details of the deaths are tragic.

“Las Vegas Metro Police said in a press release that this event is being investigated as a murder-suicide. They said a mother shot her daughter and then herself,” KUTV reported.
Tragically, the stepmother of the cheerleader found dead made a “haunting” plea before the police found the two dead.
McKennly Smith, the stepmother of the young cheerleader, posted a missing persons poster on Facebook with a pleading message.
“My daughter Addi and her mom [are] missing please share post and call or text with any information thank you!” she wrote.

Police had reportedly visited their hotel room at the Rio Hotel & Casino around 10:45 a.m. but didn’t go inside after no one answered. They did not believe anyone was in danger at the time.
Hotel workers ended up getting into the room, roughly four hours after police left, and found the mom and daughter dead.
