WORLD CUP viewers have laid into Roy Keane for playing down Thomas Tuchel’s half-time team talk against Croatia.

England were unconvincing in the first half on Wednesday but came out firing on all cylinders in the second to secure an entertaining win 4-2.

ITV pundit Emma Hayes credited Tuchel for building up his players’ confidence at the interval, and claimed it was evidence of his ability to deal with pressure.

But fellow analyst and Republic of Ireland legend Keane was having absolutely none of it.

He protested: “It’s a bit of an overreaction to his half-time team talk. What is he supposed to do?

“That is his job, isn’t it? That is the manager’s job, to give them the information and they go and produce.

“That is what any top manager would do. Get them at half-time and remind them what they’re supposed to be doing.”

Those comments did not go down well with the fans who have grown tired of Keane’s trademark rants.

One wrote on X: “Roy Keane wishes he was half as good as Tuchel as a manager.”

Another moaned: “Does he ever take a break?”

A third added: “Miserable as always.”

And a fourth chimed in with: “If it was that easy you’d still be in management Roy.”
