The Norwegian soccer star first met Johansen when they were kids. The pair played for the same soccer club, but didn’t start a relationship until years later.

Haaland and Johansen have been dating since at least 2021 and welcomed their first child together three years later. The couple prefers to keep their family life out of the spotlight, but Johansen is often on hand to support Haaland at his games.

In an October 2025 YouTube video, Haaland and Johansen shared how their individual soccer careers help bond them. “She played football. We met and all of that. It’s nice because you understand football,” he said.

Johansen and Haaland have been dating since at least 2021. The pair grew up in the same Norwegian town and both played for the professional soccer club, Bryne FK.

During a September 2025 appearance on Norwegian broadcaster NRK, Haaland said that Johansen was the one to make the first move.

“She sent me a message. She played in the same club as me, Bryne,” he said, per Goal.com. “She was the one who checked me out. I wasn’t the one who checked her out.”

In their October 2025 YouTube video, Haaland shared that he didn’t remember interacting with Johansen during their childhood.

“She remembers many times that she’s been seeing me when we were younger, but I don’t,” he said. Johansen added that she believes it was “fate” for them to meet.

While Johansen previously played for Bryne FK, she’s no longer an active member of the soccer club. In their October 2025 YouTube video, she opened up about her time playing the sport.

“To be honest, I wasn’t the best with dribbling and stuff. I was more with speed. I was running,” she said. “I miss it a lot.”

She and Haaland have a son together

Johansen and Haaland welcomed their first child together, a son, in December 2024. The Manchester City striker first announced they were expecting a baby in October 2024 when he posted a photo on X mimicking a baby bump with a soccer ball, captioning it with a baby emoji and “soon.”

While the pair mainly keep their family life private, Haaland told the Associated Press in October 2025 that he credits his son for putting him in the best form of his career.

“You can be physically ready but you need to be mentally ready as well,” he said. “And to be honest, with a kid, it makes me even better because I actually disconnect more than ever.”

Haaland added, “I don’t think of football at all, which sometimes, when you are younger, you think of this and that. You worry a little bit about things. But when I go home, I relax even more. I think I need to give a shout-out to my son.”

During his September 2025 appearance on NRK, Haaland shared that he and Johansen often spend their free time enjoying nights at home with home-cooked meals and video games.

“I cook. This will probably sound a bit embarrassing to her, but she likes to play [games],” he said, per Goal.com. “So we play Minecraft together. We build houses and all that. Or we go home to Bryne and order kebabs.”

She’s Haaland’s biggest supporter

Johansen is very supportive of Haaland’s professional soccer career and frequently attends his games. In May 2026, she shared photos from the FA Cup Final at Wembley Stadium, where Manchester City defeated Chelsea.

“Happy girlie 🩵 FA Cup winners! So proud 🏆,” she wrote in the caption.
